Holistic Education

Social, emotional, intellectual and physical development.

Welcome to our wonderful centre. We provide the children of Darling Downs families with a unique education and care setting. Wyreema Early Education offers extended hours care for up to 115 children from 6 weeks old to primary school age.

Our purpose designed and built centre houses eight classrooms for the early years, and a specific classroom for our school age care clients. Set on a gorgeous two acre block we are spoilt with generous outdoor areas for all children, as well as an indoor play space for inclement weather, library, music, and for gross motor and sensory development. We have a full commercial kitchen, with dining room, outdoor café and picnic areas.

Every child is a unique learner

Preparing your children for change

Beginning at Wyreema

A major event for any family.

Attending childcare for the first time or moving to a new centre is a major event in the family calendar. The transition impacts parents just as much as children. It is important to recognise the need for time for both of you to settle and become comfortable at Wyreema Early Education.

We encourage you to visit the centre for a play a couple of times prior to commencing your permanent days. This enables families to become familiar with routines and get to know new friends and teachers.

On your first day, please stay if you feel you or your child require. Once you decide to leave it is important to notify staff that you are ready to say goodbye. Be sure to comfort your child, tell them you will be back to collect them soon, say goodbye and leave the room.

The teachers will comfort your child and you can watch via CCTV in the foyer as your child settles after you leave. Please call throughout the day, as often as you need to calm yourself. We will also contact you to let you know how your child has settled in. Please be assured that we will not allow a child to remain upset for a long period of time before contacting you.

There is no golden rule as to how long children take to settle in. Many factors, such as how many days each week the child attends, have an impact on the speed of this process. Please be patient and communicate your thoughts and concerns with staff.

Our admin team will set you up on the Centre documentation APP “Educa”. This will provide you access to your child’s learning and development documentation that has been prepared by their educators.

Our values, educators and philosophy

Learning Through Play

Value in children's development, care and education.

In recent years, early childhood professionals have realised that play is a vital element in the development of children and how they learn most effectively. The constructivist approach to teaching that we use encourages children to find out how the world works for themselves, not just as observers.

Staying Sustainable

Protecting our children's future.

In our quest to extend your child’s creativity and imagination we require extensive materials. What you would normally disregard can be valuably recycled in our sustainability conscious classrooms.

Please bring along any “junk” materials that you have finished with. It will be greatly appreciated. Examples of this include paper, bottles, egg cartons, music, boxes, old sheets, old cameras, frames, clothes… anything!!!
