Outdoor Environments

Large natural environment.

The outdoor space spans over 2 acres and includes play resources to promote physical activity at every capability level. Our educators carefully develop an outdoor program that fosters children’s curiosity and confidence as young learners.

Outdoor learning environments are co-constructed with children by incorporating their interests and ideas into their design. School aged children also have a separate designated playground and resources, away from the younger children.

Features:

  • 2 acres of natural outdoor play space
  • Variety of mature trees and new plantings
  • Shade and play structures
  • Natural play spaces, vegetable gardens and quiet areas
  • Children under 2 years have a separate playground

Learn & Play at Wyreema

Indoor & Multipurpose Spaces

Somewhere to play and grow.

Inside the building you'll find 9 classrooms for indoor learning.  Each of our specially designed classrooms are furnished and decorated to reflect a warm, soft and home like atmosphere. Natural, soft lighting, warm colours and timber furnishings all create a peaceful space in which children are free to grow, learn and relax. All classes have toileting and nappy change facilities, bottle and craft preparation areas, storerooms and locker facilities.

The age groupings, class sizes and staff ratios are legislated under the Education and Care Services National Law, and Regulations. Our Centres offer two nursery classes, with each class group thereafter overlapping the next age. This offers flexibility in assigning a child to a class and teacher most suited to their individual needs. We will discuss class allocations with you at the time of enrolment.

Technology

At Wyreema Early Education, children can learn the vital skills of modern technology with laptops, iPad’s, and interactive whiteboards. Children can also learn to program Bee-Bot robots, an early childhood technology device that reinforces problem solving and explorations, which is great for literacy and numeracy.

They will also be encouraged to take photos of their experiences and environment with digital cameras, and with assistance from teachers can prepare these for sharing with friends and family.

Multipurpose Room

Our Multipurpose space is 200 square meters and provides children with motor and sensory development opportunities. Not only do we have a large indoor play structure for wet weather play, but an extensive choice of skill developmental stimulants including:

• Tactile walk boards
• Balance boards
• Fine motor games for dexterity
• Wall labyrinths for hand/eye coordination

Dining Room & Kitchen

Providing nutritional meals.

We have a cook onsite who prepares all of our delicious meals. Menus are displayed for parents’ perusal in the foyer. Our service has a Food Licence and Food Safety Supervisor ensuring all meals are cooked to high standards.

Valuable social skills are learnt during these times, as well as providing health and nutrition lessons. The dining room was designed to reflect a home like environment where children contribute to the preparation of nutritious meals, setting tables and the sharing of conversation.

Special diets will happily be catered for. Please provide our administration and class teachers with details, and feel free to discuss your ideas and concerns directly with the Director. We ask that families please do not bring food from home as we wish to ensure the safety of all children, particularly those with allergies and anaphylaxis.
